First Vice-president Mehriban Aliyeva becomes familiar with the conditions created at the Child Psychoneurological Centre after basic repair

On December 30, First Vice-president of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva and her daughters Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva arrived at the Child Psychoneurological Centre and became familiar with the conditions created at the institution as a result of the basic repair works carried out by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and attended the inauguration of the centre’s new building.

First Vice-president Mehriban Aliyeva inquired about the conditions created for children who are living, being treated and mastering special education at the Child Psychoneurological Centre.

It was informed that taking into account the necessity of building a spacious and state-of-the-art centre for children’s examination and treatment, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation constructed, in 2009, the Child Psychoneurological Centre in Baku city. Foundation’s President Mehriban Aliyeva and Vice-president Leyla Aliyeva have been regularly visiting children at the Centre.

Generally, children suffering from autism, cerebral palsy and mentally retardation are being treated at the Centre. Repaired in 2015 by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the building undergone basic repair this year, and additionally, a 2-storied building was constructed. Up to a hundred children are benefiting from the services of the Centre, provided with 100 beds. 24 children deprived of parental protection are being treated in a children’s home section in indoor conditions.

After the familiarization with the new building of the Child Psychoneurological Centre, First Vice-president Mehriban Aliyeva and her daughters Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva celebrated the upcoming holidays – 31st December-the World Azerbaijanis’ Solidarity Day and the New Year - together with the children being treated at the Centre.
