Opening of a newly laid-out recreation-and-entertainment park before the Baku Congress Centre takes place

On December 26, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the opening of a newly laid-out recreation-and-entertainmentpark before the Baku Congress Centre.

The President and his spouse became familiarized with the conditions created in the park.

Construction of the park was performed by “Ilk Inshaat” Company. With total area of over 7 hectares, the park has been created in a short span of time.

Large-scale landscaping works have been carried out in the park, designed by famous Austrian architect Hans Hoffman. Over 300 different trees, over 50 thousand flowers an bushes have been planted in the park. Here are a few types of plane tree, iron tree, mulberry, willow, and oak. Seasons of the year have been taken into consideration in the park’s landscape gardening. While performing the landscape gardening here, mostly shrubs and trees imported from Italy were given preference, having analysed the flora and climate. For the irrigation purpose, a state-of-the-art drainage system has been built here, and over 20km-long pipe-drop irrigation system and about 1000 spraying means have been installed here.

4 different rest areas have been created on the territory. Various training devices and facilities have been installed in the park’s sports area. Special areas have been created for children in the park, covered with about 2700 square metres soft material. A fountain and 3 lakes with total area of about 2200 square metres have been created in the park’s area. There is also a skating ground with artificial cover in the park. Designed to function in all the seasons of the year, the ground’s total area is 2130 square metres.

The recreation-and-entertainmentpark has been provided with state-of-the-art engineering, illumination facilities, central control of infrastructure, and security cameras.
