First Vice-president of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva visited the State Tretyakov Gallery in the framework of her official visit to Moscow.
First Vice-president Mehriban Aliyeva and Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva became familiarized with the 8th Moscow International Contemporary Art Biennale, currently in operation.

Artists from Russia, Bahrain, Austria, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Italy, China, Netherlands, USA and France participate in the Biennale. Curator of the Biennale’s main project is the author of the complexes “Federation” and “Moscow-City” in Moscow Dmitri Chernyakov. The author has combined various topics and genres in small capsules and houses in a common dialogue. As it was not easy to make all this diversity accord with each other, the exhibition was called “Orientation in Space”. Over 50 artworks of 34 artists from 11 countries are displayed at the Contemporary Art Biennale, dedicated to the topic of “Orientation in Space”.
At the exposition, First Vice-president Mehriban Aliyeva became familiarized with multimedia installations “The Idea of Maintaining Aesthetics” by Orkhan Mammadov and “Eternity” by Leyla Aliyeva.
In the installation presented by Orkhan Mammadov, motifs of over 50 Azerbaijani carpets related to different periods are combined. In the art-object made by the artist using an artificial intellect, patterns replace each other.
The artwork “Eternity, made by a creative staff of 20 people under the leadership of Leyla Aliyeva in the genre of video-art, is about human courage.
Austria’s famous Albertina Museum, with the weightiest collection of graphical artworks, is the Moscow Biennale’s partner. Artworks by 11 renowned artists of the 20th century which are preserved at the museum are demonstrated at the exhibition.
