Visit to Uzbekistan

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev was on a visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan to participate in the 9th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States, November 10.

A guard of honour was lined up in honour of the head of Azerbaijani state at the Samarkand International Airport, where the flags of both countries waved.

President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva were welcomed by Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov, and other officials.

On November 10, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirzizoyev in Samarkand.

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirzizoyev and his spouse Ziroatkhon Mirzizoyeva welcomed President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva.

The heads of states and first ladies were photographed together.

On November 10, First Lady of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva and first ladies of other countries became acquainted with the exhibition “Colours of Uzbekistan” in the framework of the 9th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States.

Famous artworks from the collection of the State Art Museum of Karakalpakstan Republic named after Stavisky were showcased at the exhibition in Nukus.

On November 11, the “Statement on Global Engagement for Zero Waste in the World, our Home” was signed in Samarkand.

Developed on the initiative of the Turkish Republic, the statement was signed by First Lady of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, First Lady of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ziroatkhon Mirzizoyeva and spouse of the Hungarian prime minister Anika Levai.

Acquaintance with the exhibition called “Mirages of Time”

On November 11, in the framework of the 9th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States, First Lady of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, First Lady of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ziroatkhon Mirzizoyeva, First Lady of the Turkish Republic Emine Erdogan and spouse of the Hungarian prime minister Anika Levai became acquainted with an exhibition called “Mirages of Time” arranged at the Expo Centre in Samarkand.

To accurately and fully convey the events, characters were revived by people. Here, fragments of recent civilizations were presented through handicrafts of artisans.
