Visit to Qatar

Azerbaijan’s First Lady, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva was on a visit to Qatar, March 12-13, 2007.

On March 12, Mehriban Aliyeva was met, at the Doha Airport, by Qatar Emir’s spouse Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al-Missned.

Regional Conference on the theme of “Literacy, building partnership and agitation of new approaches in the Arab states”

On March 12, a regional conference on the theme of “Literacy, building partnership and agitation of new approaches in the Arab states” organized by UNESCO and Qatar Education Foundation started in Qatar. Mehriban Aliyeva addressed the conference.

Meetings with the first ladies of Lebanon and Syria 

On March 12, Mehriban Aliyeva met with the first ladies of Lebanon and Syria - Andrée Emile Lahoud  and Asma al-Assad. Exchange of opinions was held during the meetings around the matters of mutual interest.

A dinner-party in honour of the conference participants

On March 13, Mehriban Aliyeva attended the dinner-party hosted on behalf of UNESCO Director General Koichiro Matsuura in honour of the conference participants.

Acquaintance with Qatar’s Education Park

On March 13, Mehriban Aliyeva visited the Education Park of Qatar, accompanied by Qatar Emir’s spouse Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al-Missned.
