Visit to Austria

President of the Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev and Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva were on a visit to Austria, May 12-14, 2013.

On May 12, President Ilham Aliyev and Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva were welcomed at Vienna’s Schvechat International Airport by high-level state and government officials of Austria.

Visiting the monument to Uzeir Hajibeyli in Vienna

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva visited the monument to composer of genius of Azerbaijan Uzeir Hajibeyli in the Danube Park in Vienna, May 12.

Monuments to well-known people of the world culture have been erected in the Danube Park. The monument to Uzeir Hajibeyli was erected in 2006.

Official welcoming ceremony

An official welcoming ceremony took place for President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, who is on an official visit to the Republic of Austria, May 13.

President of the Austrian Republic Heinz Fischer and his spouse Margit Fisher met President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva at the Hofburg Palace.

State and government officials of Austria were introduced to the President of Azerbaijan and members of the Azerbaijani delegation were introduced to the President of Austria.

Acquaintance with the Imperial Treasury, Spanish Horse-riding School and Saint Michael’s Church

Mehriban Aliyeva acquainted herself with the Imperial Treasury located at the Hofburg Palace complex, visited the Spanish Horse-ridingSchool within the Hofburg Palace complex and the Saint Michael’s Church in the centre of Vienna, May 13.

Inauguration of the Centre of Azerbaijani Culture in Vienna

The Centre of Azerbaijani Culture was opened in Vienna, May 13.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva attended the ceremony.

President Ilham Aliyev and Vice-speaker of the Austrian Parliament Fritz Neugebauer delivered a speech at the ceremony.

President Ilham Aliyev wrote his heartfelt words in the Guest Book of the Centre of Azerbaijani Culture in Vienna.
