Visit to the United States of America

On September 22, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev went on a business trip to the city of New York of the United States of America to participate in the 80^th Session of the UN General Assembly.

President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva were welcomed at the John F. Kennedy International Airport of New York by officials.

Participation in high-level discussions held at the 80^th Session of the UN General Assembly 

On September 23, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the high-level discussions held within the framework of the 80^th Session of the UN General Assembly at the headquarters in New York.

UN Secretary General AntónioGuterres welcomed President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva.

Over 150 heads of states and governments attended the 80^th Session of the General Assembly held at the headquarters of the UN in New York. Dedicated to the theme “Better together: 80 years and more for peace, development and human rights”, the session addressed current global issues, including conflicts still present in some places of the world, Sustainable Development Goals, climate crises etc. 

A dinner party entitled “Building Our Future Together” 

On September 23, a dinner party was hosted on behalf of US First Lady Melania Trump in New York.

Mehriban Aliyeva attended the event. 

An official reception in connection with the 80^th Session of the UN General Assembly 

On September 23, an official reception was arranged, on behalf of US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, in connection with the 80^th Session of the UN General Assembly.

Special session within the framework of the UN General Assembly 

On September 24, a special session called “Global Movement to Improve Survival and Reduce Suffering for Children with Cancer and Other Catastrophic Diseases” was organized in the framework of the 80^th Session of the UN General Assembly. 

First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, her daughters Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva attended the event organized by the Republic of Uzbekistan and the World Health Organization.
