Opening of the Bike Park takes place in Baku

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, his spouse, Chairperson of the Baku-2015 First European Games Organizing Committee Mehriban Aliyeva and their daughter Arzu Aliyeva attended the opening of the Bike Park in Baku, May 13. 

The Head of the State and the First Lady first viewed the general layout of the Bike Park.

On the territory of the Bike Park - with total area of over 30 hectares - has also been created a BMX Bike Park, which will be used during the European Games. A competition ground with barriers has been built here. The BMX Bike Park accommodates 1197 onlooker’s seats. Special seats have been provided here for high-level guests, sportsmen, disabled onlookers and representatives of mass media. The two-storied office building constructed on the territory of the Bike Park accommodates a registration centre, a working room, doping control and doping sample-taking rooms, a 25-seat meeting room and other secondary rooms. Car parking, registration, individual accommodation and other service areas have been provided here for VIP guests, the Olympic family, international federation and official delegations.

After acquainting themselves with the Bike Park, the Head of the State and the First Lady met the members of the cycling team “Synergy Baku Cycling Project”.
