President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attend the inauguration of Garabagh Hotel in Shusha

Inauguration of Garabagh Hotel took place in Shusha, Azerbaijan’s cultural capital, after the renovation works were completed, August 29.  

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the inauguration. 

Constructed in 1980, the hotel’s operation had been suspended as a result of Shusha’s occupation in May 1992, falling into complete disrepair due to the lack of maintenance.  After the city of Shusha was liberated from Armenia’s occupation as a result of the Azerbaijani Army’s glorious Victory, restoration and reconstruction works were launched at the hotel in 2021, following the instruction of President Ilham Aliyev. All facilities have been provided at the hotel to ensure that the visitors of Shusha feel themselves comfortably. There are rooms of different categories. A restaurant and a bar will be commissioned for the guests’ use. A conference room has been created in the hotel to hold business meetings and other events. A car parking has also been built on the hotel’s territory. Greenery were planted on the territory of the park adjoining the hotel, and fountains were built here, returning it to its appearance before the occupation.
