First Vice-president Mehriban Aliyeva becomes familiarized with the conditions in Kindergarten №229 in Buzovna, a gymnasium in Mardakan and Lachyn district’s secondary school №32

On April 25, First Vice-president of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva visited Nursery-kindergarten №229 in Buzovna settlement, Khazar district, the foreign language gymnasium named after Suleyman Rustam in Mardakan settlement and Lachyn district’s secondary school №32, temporarily operating in the second building of the gymnasium, and became familiarized with the conditions in these institutions.

Mehriban Aliyeva first arrived at Nursery-kindergarten №229 in Buzovna settlement, Khazar district.

According to the information given, this building was constructed in 1836. Since 1957, the building started to function as a kindergarten. Last repair works here were performed during 2006-2007.

Mehriban Aliyeva met with children being brought up in the nursery-kindergarten, talked with them, enquired about their skills and asked what their wishes were. Children, having gathered around Mehriban khanum, shared their wishes with her, demonstrated their skills, danced, sang songs, and told verses.

It was told that a staff of 27 pedagogues have been engaged in the education of children in this preschool education institution, designed for 75 children. Children aged 2 to 6 are being educated in the kindergarten, comprised of four groups, mastering primary knowledge.

Mehriban Aliyeva took interest also in how well children in higher age groups were prepared for school.

Then Mehriban Aliyeva arrived at the foreign language gymnasium named after Suleyman Rustam in Mardakan settlement.

It was informed that, commissioned in 1960s, this education establishment has never been repaired so far. Previously being of a boarding school type, this education establishment has been operating as a foreign-language gymnasium as of 2010. There are 50 classrooms, a sports and assembly halls and a workshop in the schools, comprised of two buildings.

Becoming closely acquainted with classrooms of the school, Mehriban Aliyeva was informed that education on the forms 5 to 11 are conducted at the gymnasium. 609 pupils are studying at the school, of whom education has been ensured by a staff of 70 pedagogues. English, Arabic, Farsi and Russian languages are taught at the school.

Mehriban Aliyeva talked with pupils, and wished them successes in their studies:

- You have been showing interest toward education, science and knowledge. You are hopes of Azerbaijan, therefore, should study well. You will become future builders of Azerbaijan. I know your school has always had good marks. I wish you successes. Thank you.

49 pupils finished the school in the 2017-2018 school year, 45 of them being admitted to higher schools of Azerbaijan. 3 pupils scored 600 pints at the admission examinations.

Then, Mehriban Aliyeva became familiarized with the conditions in Lachyn district’s secondary school №32, temporarily operating in the second building of the gymnasium.

According to the information given, this education establishment has been functioning in this building since 1993. Basically, children from IDP families, as well as those residing in Khazar district study in this school, located on the 3rd floor of the gymnasium’s second building.

Viewing classrooms, Mehriban Aliyeva had sincere talk with children, and was photographed together with them.

At the moment, 25 teachers and 10 technical employees have been engaged in the education of 170 children. 9 pupils finished the school in the school year 2017-2018, and of them 7 were admitted to higher schools of Azerbaijan, having scored high points.

Mehriban Aliyeva took interest in the conditions created for IDPs settled in Khazar district, saying the state has always shown special attention to this area.
