5th International Humanitarian Forum is launched in Baku

The 5^th Baku International Humanitarian Forum started, September 29, at the Heydar Aliyev Centre.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the official opening ceremony.

Head of our State Ilham Aliyev addressed the Forum’s opening ceremony.

Then, deputy head of the Russian Federation’s Government Mrs Olga Golodets read an address by Russian President Vladimir Putin to Forum participants and, making a speech, highly appreciated the significance of the event.

Then, deputy UN Secretary General Mrs Cihan Sultanoghlu read an address by Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to Forum participants.

Later, ISESCO Director General Abdulaziz Othman al-Twaijri and UNESCO deputy Director General Getachew Engida spoke.

The Forum proceeded its work in plenary sessions and by speeches of heads of “round tables”.
