Visit to Turkey

On November 14, 2015, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva went on a business visit to the Turkish Republic to participate in a Summit of G-20 in the city of Antalya, November 14.

The President of Azerbaijan and the First Lady were welcomed at the international airport of Antalya by high-ranking state and government officials of Turkey.

Acquaintance with Rehabilitation Centre for the Disabled in Antalya

On November 14, Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva familiarized herself with a Rehabilitation Centre for the Disabled in the city of Antalya, Turkey.

Mehriban Aliyeva and the Foundation’s Vice-president Leyla Aliyeva were greeted at the Rehabilitation Centre by Turkey’s First Lady Amina Erdoğan.

Mehriban Aliyeva, her daughter Leyla Aliyeva, First Lady of the South African Republic Thobeka Madiba-Zuma, First Lady of Zimbabwe Grace Mugabe, Malaysian Premier Minister’s spouse Rosmah Mansor and other guests made themselves acquainted with the Centre’s operation. Then the guests took interest in the education process at the Centre, and viewed children’s handicrafts.

A dinner in honour of distinguished guests in Antalya

A dinner was given on November 14 on behalf of Turkish President Rejeb Tayyip Erdoğan and his spouse Amina Erdoğan in honour of the heads of states and governments, international organizations participating in the Summit of G-20 held in the city of Antalya, and their spouses.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva attended the dinner.

After the dinner, samples from ebru and glass works –traditional Turkish handicraft – were demonstrated. Mehriban Aliyeva participated in making of one of the ebrus.

Joint session “Business-20/Women-20”

On November 15, the joint session “Business-20/Women-20” was organized within the framework of the Summit of G-20 held in Antalya.

Mehriban Aliyeva and the Foundation’s Vice-president Leyla Aliyeva attended the session.

A video trailer was first shown at the event dedicated to challenges of women-refugees.

Amina Erdoğan, the spouse of Turkish President Rejeb Tayyip Erdoğan, addressed the session.

Those making a speech at the session talked about the necessity of the world nations’ joining their efforts to remove the threat caused be terror, which has neither nationality nor borders.

At the end, the participants of the event were photographed.

On November 15, Mehriban Aliyeva met First Lady of Turkey Amina Erdoğan.

Leyla Aliyeva and Sumeyye Erdoğan – daughters of the first ladies of Azerbaijan and Turkey – attended the meeting.

A dinner in honour of first ladies

On November 15, a dinner was given on behalf of Turkey’s First Lady Amina Erdogan in honour of the spouses of the heads of states and governments and international organizations participating in the Summit of G-20 held in the city of Antalya.

A reception on behalf of the Turkish prime minister in honour of distinguished guests

On November 15, a reception was arranged, on behalf of Turkish Prime Minister Ahmad Davudoghlu in honour of the heads of states and governments and international organizations participating in G-20 Summit, and their spouses.

An exhibition in “G20”-“Yurd” cultural area

On November 16, Mehriban Aliyeva familiarized herself with an exhibition arranged in “G20”-”Yurd” cultural area in Antalya.

Mehriban Aliyeva, spouse of the Turkish President Amina Erdogan and spouses of heads of states and governments and international organizations participating in the Summit were given information about the exhibition.

In the cultural area is demonstrated a section of tolerance demonstrating Jalaladdin Rumi and Yunus Emre’s legacy, the exhibition “Turkish coffee culture”, samples of ebru art, silk garments, and dishes promoting the Turkish cuisine etc.
