Mehriban Aliyeva was chosen “First Lady of the Year” following the survey conducted by the “Ekovitrin” magazine of Turkey

First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, member of the Milli Majlis Mehriban Aliyeva was chosen “First Lady of the Year” according to the results of the survey conducted by influential “Ekovitrin” Magazine of Turkey.

A nominee, which received the largest number of votes  among 102 nominees put to vote in 34 categories in an article published in the magazine, was chosen “Star of the Year”

In the category of “Honorary Award” of the magazine, three influential persons were announced winners. In this category, First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva was awarded the “First Lady of the Year” Prize.

Laureates of “Honorary Award” on diplomacy were Secretary General of the Islamic Cooperation Organization Ekmaladdin Ihsanoglu and Head of the London Municipality   Boris Jonson, of a Turkish descent.

“Ekovitrin” writes that, started as of the 7th of February in order to choose stars of 2011, the survey covered a record number of  respondents – 251, 562 people. The survey lasted two and a half month.

Awards will be presented to winners in a solemn ceremony to be held in June in Istanbul.

The biography of First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, her public and political activity, prizes she has been awarded to date and her merits in advocating the truth about our country were also reflected in an article published in the Magazine.
