Visit to Turkey

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva were on a visit to Turkey, November 11-13, 2013.

President Ilham Aliyev and Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva were welcomed, November 11^th, at the Esenbogha Airport of Ankara, by Turkey’s high-ranking state and government officials.

Official welcoming ceremony of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev took place, November 12^th, at the Residence of the Turkish President – Çankaya Villa.

Turkish President Abdullah Gul welcomed President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva.

Officials of the Turkish Republic were introduced to President Ilham Aliyev; members of the Azerbaijani delegation were introduced to President Abdulla Gul.

Presidents and their spouses were photographed.

After the official welcoming ceremony, a joint meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva with Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Mrs Hayrunnisa Gul took place.

A ceremony of decorating the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkey

On November 12, a ceremony of decorating Presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkey took place at Çankaya Villa.

Decision of the Turkish Cabinet of Ministers to decorate Ilham Aliyev with “State Medal of Honour”, and Resolution of the Azerbaijani President to decorate President Abdullah Gul with the “Heydar Aliyev” Order were read.

The Turkish President presented the State Medal of Honour to President Ilham Aliyev; the Azerbaijani President presented the Heydar Aliyev Order to President Abdullah Gull.

Meeting with Turkish President’s spouse Hayrunnisa Gul

On November 12, Azerbaijan’s First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva met with Turkish President’s spouse Hayrunnisa Gul, at Çankaya Villa.

Mehriban Aliyeva, Hayrunnisa Gul, and Emine Erdoghan, the spouse of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoghan, toured the Çankaya Villa, then had a joint dinner.

On November 12, official dinner was given in honour of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, on behalf of Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Mrs Hayrunnisa Gul.

Meeting with Emine Erdoghan, the spouse of the Turkish Prime Minister

On November 13, Azerbaijan’s First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva met with Emine Erdoghan, the spouse of the Turkish Prime Minister.

Having first been photographed, then Mehriban Aliyeva and Emine Erdoghan talked around a tea table.

Joint dinner

On November 13, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva and Turkish Prime Minister Rejep Tayyib Erdoghan and Mrs Emine Erdoghan had a joint dinner.
