President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva are on a visit to Shamakhy

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva visited Shamakhy, with the purpose of becoming familiarized with the works carried out towards removing the aftermath of the earthquake in the district, March 7.

As a result of the earthquake occurred in Shamakhy, along with Ismailli and Aghsu districts, individual homes and social and infrastructure objects were damaged. So far, 4893 homes were inspected in Shamakhy, of which 244 have been established to be in an emergency state, 96 of them being in the town, 35 in settlements, and 113 in villages. At the moment, 6 homes are under construction to replace seriously damaged ones in the town. In general, 1111 homes in the district need restoration and strengthening works, of which 561 are in the town, 87 in settlements, and 463 in villages. In Shamakhy, total number of homes requiring repair is 1800, with 866 of them being in the town, 123 in settlements, and 811 in villages.

President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva paid a visit to the monument erected to National Leader in the Heydar Aliyev Culture and Recreation Park in the district centre, and laid flowers before it.
