Inauguration of the I.M.Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University’s Baku Branch takes place
15.09.2015Inauguration of the I.M.Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University’s Baku Branch took place, September 15.
Azerbaijan’s First Lady, graduate and honorary professor of the Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University Mehriban Aliyeva attended the ceremony.
After cutting the ribbon symbolising the inauguration, Mehriban Aliyeva, Health Minister of the Russian Federation Veronica Skvortsova, Rector of the First Moscow State Medical University Peter Glybochko, and representatives of the Azerbaijani government and the public familiarised themselves with the conditions created at the Branch.
Education Minister Mikail Jabbarov and Health Minister Ogtay Shiraliyev informed Mehriban Aliyeva of the Baku Branch.
In the first academic year, 100 Azerbaijani students will study at the university on the specialty of medical treatment. The teaching at the university will mainly be conducted by the university’s teaching staff in accordance with the new generation Russian state education standards. At the same time, world-renowned Russian scholars will participate in the teaching process. While training physicians-specialists at the Branch, application of innovative education technologies and conducting of master classes are planned.
Mehriban Aliyeva wrote her heartfelt words in the Honorary Guests Book of the Baku Branch.
Then a meeting took place in the assembly hall with participation of the teaching staff and first students of this education establishment.

Russia’s Health Minister Veronica Skvortsova, Rector of the First Moscow State Medical University Peter Glybochko and first-year student of the Baku Branch Tural Huseynov, who entered the university with high scores, delivered a speech at the ceremony.
Peter Glybochko presented the constituent order prepared in connection with the opening of the Baku Branch of the Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University.
