President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the inauguration of the garden before Tazapir Mosque and the Central Park laid out along the Fuzuli street, Yasamal district, May 22.

The President and the First Lady were informed of the works done.

Following President Ilham Aliyev’s direct instruction and based on the relevant decisions of the Cabinet of Ministers, renovation and reconstruction works were launched in November 2013 in the area called previously as “Sovetski”, and works here are being performed in stages.

The Head of the State and the First Lady viewed the capital’s panorama.

The area has been renovated based on an original design, and a new park meeting contemporary standards laid out.

The most significant feature of the Central Park, designed by renowned architect of Austria Jans Hoffman, is that in an area from Nariman Narimanov Avenue to the Heydar Aliyev Palace, pedestrians have been provided with the possibility to move without crossing the road. The primary objective of the project is to beautify the city’s image further, and serve to cultural recreation of the capital residents and tourists.

While renovating the area, water towers known among the people as “Gulla” and wells constructed in connection with laying out the Shollar water pipe to Baku city early in the 20th century have been discovered and restored. These water wells are used for the irrigation works in the recreation area.

President Ilham Aliyev gave necessary instructions in connection with the works to be done.

Then, President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva met with residents before the monument to Fuzuli.

The President and the First Lady became familiarized with issues citizens were concerned of. It was told that the issues raised by the residents would be solved in an operative manner.
