President Ilham Aliyev and family members participate in a tree-planting action dedicated to the birthday of national leader Heydar Aliyev

On May 10, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and family members participated in the tree planting action, dedicated to the birthday of national leader Heydar Aliyev, in a green area laid out at 28^th km of the Zykh Circle-Heydar Aliyev International Airport motorway.

Based on the instruction by the President, a 67-hectare area on the territory of the former iodine-bromide plant in Surakhany district, contaminated by ground waters, iodine and other wastes, was cleaned and rehabilitated. In general, various types of over 50 thousand trees have been planted so far on this territory and a big strip of greenery laid out.

President Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and family members planted trees on the territory.

3250 trees were planted, in general, on a 4-hectare territory, held on the occasion of the 96^th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev.

President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva met with a group of youths who participated in the tree-planting action. The Head of the State thanked the youth for the works they have done towards improving the ecological condition.
