President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the inauguration of the newly built Demirchi-Lahyj road.

Linking Demirchi village of Shamakhy district with Lahyj settlement of Ismailli district, the road is 22 kilometre long. Following the relevant resolution of the Azerbaijani President, the Motorroad State Agency had been allocated 16.7 million Manats in total, with 3 million being from the President’s reserve fund and 13.7 million from the state budget’s investment costs, for the construction of the Demirchi-Lahyj road, which links one settlement of Shamakhy district and four settlements of Ismailli district. Using these funds, the Demirchi-Lahyj road was built according to the 4^th grade, with 2 traffic lanes. The traffic section of the road is 6 metres wide, including the shoulders, with the road bed being 8 to 10 metres. Water draining pipes of various diameters with total length of 210 metres have been placed on the road. In order to ensure normal movement of vehicles on the road, relevant road signs have been installed, road marking painted, and bus stops constructed.
