On May 9, a solemn ceremony took place in Baku to mark the 73^rd anniversary of the victory over fascism in the World War 2^nd.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the ceremony.

President Ilham Aliyev put a wreath before the monument erected to twice Hero of the Soviet Union, tank forces major-general Hazi Aslanov.
