Visit to Greece

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva were on a visit to Greece, 15-16 June 2014.

Visit to ELPIDA Friendship Association of Children Suffering from Cancer

On June 15, Mehriban Aliyeva visited ELPIDA Friendship Association of Children Suffering from Cancer, and met children being treated here, and their parents.

Then a documentary reflecting ELPIDA’s activity was shown.

President of the Association Marianna Vardinoyannis presented the ELPIDA Award to Mehriban Aliyeva.

Mehriban Aliyeva addressed the ceremony.

Then the First Lady fixed a star with her name on the board with the names of eminent persons that have paid a visit to ELPIDA, and presented souvenirs on behalf of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation to children.

Visit to the Acropolis Museum

On June 15, Mehriban Aliyeva and President of ELPIDA Association Marianna Vardinoyannis visited the Acropolis Museum, and saw historical exhibits being displayed there.

Thereafter, Mehriban Aliyeva and Marianna Vardinoyannis dined together.

Visit to the Acropolis in Athens

On June 15, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva visited the Acropolis in Athens.

Visit to Museum of Cycladic Art in Athens

On June 16, Mehriban Aliyeva visited the Museum of Cycladic Art in Athens.

At the museum, Mehriban Aliyeva was accompanied by spouse of the Greek Prime Minister Georgia Samaras.

Mehriban Aliyeva wrote her heartfelt words in the museum’s memory book.

Then Mehriban Aliyeva and Georgia Samaras dined together.

Presentation of the “Olympic Excellence” Special Honorary Prize

On June 16, opening of the 54^th International Session of Young Participants of the International Olympic Academy took place in Athens.

Mehriban Aliyeva attended the ceremony.

President of the International Olympic Academy Isidoros Kuvelos presented the “Olympic Excellence” Special Honorary Prize to Mehriban Aliyeva, for her contribution to promotion of the Olympic values.

Mehriban Aliyeva addressed the ceremony.

The ceremony continued with a concert program.

A state dinner in honour of President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva

On June 16, a state dinner was hosted on behalf of President of the Greek Republic Karolos Papoulias in honour of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva.

The heads of the states delivered a speech during the dinner.

	Gobustan Gobustan is located near Baku city. It is over 15 thousand years old. In pictures drawn on Gobustan rocks, the life and thoughts of our ancestors are depicted.
