Visit to China

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev was on a visit to the People’s Republic of China, April 22.

At the Beijing International Airport, President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva were welcomed by transport minister of the People’s Republic of China Liu Wei, and other officials.

Official welcoming ceremony in Beijing

On April 23, an official welcoming ceremony took place for President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

Chairman of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping and First Lady Peng Liyuan welcomed AzerbaijaniPresident Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva.

Becoming acquainted with the Great Hall of the People

On April 23, First Lady of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, her daughter Leyla Aliyeva and other members of the family became acquainted with the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

Located in the centre of Beijing, on the west side of Tiananmen Square, the Great Hall of the People is a state palace where the highest-level state events and ceremonies, including congresses of the Chinese Communist Party, annual sittings of the National People’s Congress of China - a supreme legislative body, as well as official welcoming ceremonies for foreign state leaders are organized.

Official dinner-party in honour of the Azerbaijani President

On April 23, an official dinner-party was hosted on behalf of Chairman of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping and First Lady Peng Liyuan in honour of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva.
