Military Parade dedicated to the fifth anniversary of Victory in Patriotic War was held in Baku
08.11.2025On November 8, a Military Parade dedicated to the fifth anniversary of the Victory in the Patriotic War was held at Azadlig Square in Baku.
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif attended the parade.
The national anthems of Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Pakistan were performed.
The memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and heroic martyrs of Azerbaijan was honored with a minute of silence.
Minister of Defense Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov reported to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev.
The head of state delivered a speech at the parade.
President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the event.
Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif delivered a speech.
The military parade began following the speeches by heads of state.
The parade is commanded by the First Deputy Minister of Defense – Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, Colonel General Karim Valiyev, holder of the "Victory" and "Karabakh" orders.
The parade squads of the Armed Forces advanced towards the grandstand under the National Flag of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Following the National Flag, battle flags of the Azerbaijan Army and formations particularly distinguished in military operations in achieving Victory in the Patriotic War were brought to the Azadlig square led by Major General Vugar Aliverdiyev, holder of the Order "For Merits to the Motherland."
It was followed by the passage of the Armed Forces’ military equipment.
Subsequently, warships and boats of the Naval Forces and the Coast Guard of the State Border Service demonstrated high combat readiness in the coastal waters of the Caspian Sea for the Military Parade.
Afterwards, combat aircrafts and helicopters of the Air Force, with the participation of Azerbaijani and Turkish pilots, flew over Azadlig Square.
