President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attend the inauguration of a new building of the Baku European Lyceum

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the inauguration of a new building of the Baku European Lyceum, designed for 1560 pupils, in the White City in the capital, September 21st.

Education minister Emin Amrullayev informed President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva of the facilities created in the new building of the Baku European Lyceum.

Along with 70 classrooms, laboratories for physics, chemistry, biology, informatics and military training, rooms for a cinema school, painting and diplomacy, a room for a small academy of sciences, an art studio, sports and assembly halls and a canteen will be placed at the disposal of the teachers and pupils at this education institution, of which construction started last year. In short, facilities provided here ensure vast possibilities to reveal and develop intellectual and creative potential of talented pupils and educate them based on high moral and cultural values.

Established for talented children, the Baku European Lyceum is a state-run school under the Education Ministry. With 100% of the graduates of the lyceum entering higher schools each year with high scores, some continue their education at a number of influential universities worldwide.

The lyceum has its unique model of education. All conditions meeting the contemporary requirements have been created for pupils in a STEAM room, divided into engineering, robot, meeting, art, science and kids’ zones.
