President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva are presented the general town planning scheme of Shusha city

On August 29, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva were presented the general town planning scheme of Shusha city.

The head of the state and the first lady were informed that while developing the general town planning scheme of Shusha city, importance was attached to maintaining its historical magnificence. All projects to be implemented in the cultural capital will be built on the unity of history and contemporariness, and, as it was in the past, Shusha will soon become one of the most beautiful cities of the world.

The general town planning scheme presented provides for also construction of medium, high and mixed density residential buildings of Shusha, the place of city centre, buildings to be constructed, those to be preserved, as well as monuments.

Along with existing 36.2 km-long roads in the city, construction of additional 17.2 km new roads is planned. Public stops have also been shown in the general scheme of the city. These stops will be located so that they do not create obstruction to entry to and exits from the streets.

While developing the general scheme, construction of green corridors also was taken into account in order to preserve and improve the greenery and landscape.

The new 46,765 square metre residential area will consist of 6 blocks. Number of the population by blocks will be 2020. Thus, it is expected that there will be 25 buildings in the residential block. In the 1st block, of which foundation was laid on August 29th, 3, 4 and 5-storied buildings will also be constructed in the architectural style characteristic of Shusha.

Then, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev laid the foundation of the 1st block.
