On June 9, inaugurations of three modular hospitals took place with participation of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva.

These modular hospitals were assembled in Bilgah settlement of the capital, in Sumgait city, and Saray settlement of Absheron district.

By commissioning these hospitals, three more hospitals were made ready for use, which are of significant importance in terms of combatting the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in the country. Assembling modular hospitals has ensured additional 2000 bed-reserve for the healthcare system of the country. The main objective here is to secure a single control and medical coordination in order to provide necessary medical service to coronavirus patients.

President Ilham Aliyev was informed that of the three modular hospitals, one is attached to Bilgah United City Hospital No.28 in Bilgah settlement, and other two to City Hospital No.1 in Sumgait and the hospital in Saray settlement of Absheron district. All necessary conditions have been ensured to receive and treat coronavirus patients at these modular hospital complexes with 100wards and 200 beds, provided with a centralized oxygen generator system. Air to be transferred to wards is filtered through a ventilation system.

First hospital of this type was commissioned in May 7 in the capital. It is expected that six more such complexes would be assembled and commissioned in districts.
