President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attend the inauguration of the residential complex Gobu Park-3 developed for IDP families

Inauguration of the residential complex Gobu Park-3, developed for IDP families in Garadagh district of Baku, took place on May 28.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the inauguration ceremony.

Chairperson of the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and IDP Rovshan Rzayev and representative of “Pasha Holding, head of the project Kamil Aliyev gave information to President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva about the conditions ensured at the complex, of which foundation was laid in July last year.

It was informed that, with the client being Pasha Holding and contractor Kristal Absheron MTK, the new settlement has been developed near the residential complexes Gobu Park-1 and Gobu Park-2, commissioned in Lokbatan. Construction of all these residential complexes was performed following the initiative of Azerbaijan’s First Vice-president, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva.

It was noted that the place where this residential complex - intended for IDP - is located was earlier an abandoned area. There was no social infrastructure before to live in. In 2018, Gobu Park-1 was commissioned in this area, and last year, Gobu Park-2. 11 nine-storied apartment buildings for 1026 families were constructed at the first residential complex, while the second residential complex comprised 13 ten-storied buildings intended for 1300 families. Schools, kindergartens, outpatient clinic, medical and postal stations, sports halls and other necessary infrastructure objects were created on the territories of these complexes. 13 ten-storied residential buildings were constructed at the residential complex Gobu Park-3.

The President and the First Lady were given information about the residential complex developed on the territory by private companies. It was noted that 2 buildings were constructed here, with some 100 apartments.

A kindergarten for 280 children was constructed on the territory of the complex.

President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva became acquainted with the conditions ensured at the kindergarten.

It was informed that there were all possibilities at the kindergarten to reveal children’s talent and discover their potential, along with teaching them.

The President and the First Lady became acquainted also with the conditions created at Comprehensive Education School No.4 of the Fuzuli district constructed at the complex.

It was noted that designed for 960 pupils, the school building was provided with necessary teaching means, creating all possibilities for pupils’ high-level education.

Then, President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva were given information about the carpet weaving and patterns’ shop Khary Bulbul, a project of the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and IDP.

The objective of this project, being implemented for the first time, is to provide IDP with more jobs, and improve their social welfare. Here will be taught secrets of carpet weaving, along with ensuring the production process. 70 IDP are expected to be attracted to the project over the course of a year from the residential complexes Gobu Park-1, Gobu Park-2 and Gobu Park-3, as well as from other settlements in Garadagh district. Those who have mastered the secrets of carpet weaving more profoundly would work as teachers in workshops, others to be provided with looms at their homes. They will weave carpets for presents. Sales of carpets will also be arranged in the framework of the project. Making of items of jewellery related to the material and cultural heritage of Garabagh is expected to take place in the workshop. Products made here will be taken to foreign markets as handicrafts of IDP, along with the local market. Master classes, painting and foreign language courses are also expected to be arranged here.

While becoming acquainted with apartments at the residential complex Gobu Park-3, the President and the First Lady were informed that the total number of apartments are 1336. Of them, 156 are one-room, 580 two-room, 384 three-room, and 216 four-room apartments. All apartments have been provided with kitchen furniture, a refrigerator, and an individual heating system. Mostly, IDP families temporarily settled in hostels in Yasamal district are expected to be moved into this complex.

Residential Complex Gobu Park-3 is the 111th settlement developed for refugees and IDP. Production areas, trade objects and other necessary infrastructure have been created on the territory of the complex. A recreation park has been laid out on the territory for residents to spend their free time efficiently, and child entertainment grounds were built and vast greenery planting and illumination works performed. Moreover, 3 sports grounds and an open car parking area for 360 cars will be placed at the disposal of residents.

President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva were given information about two business projects being realized at the complex.

It was noted that, being implemented in the framework of cooperation between the Agency for Development of Small and Medium Business and the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and IDP, the projects aims at securing employment of IDP through business projects. For the first time, production enterprises are created on a territory where refugees and IDP are settled. It is expected that over 40 jobs will be created at the enterprise where soft, plastic toys and textile products will be produced.

And at the enterprise of sterilized medical accessories, outer clothing and suits will be made for medical workers. 25 people will be provided with jobs here. 80 percent of the people to be employed at these enterprises will be formed out of residents of Gobu Park-3. The companies have been freed from rentals, which makes realization of certain projects at the complex attractive for entrepreneurs.

Then, President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva met with IDP.
