First Vice-president Mehriban Aliyeva becomes familiarized with the conditions at Child Art School No.2

On June 13, First Vice-president of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva visited Child Art School No.2 named after Vagif Mustafazadeh in Yasamal district, Baku city.

According to the information provided, the institution started to operate as Music School No.1 in 1940. In 1985, the school was named after Vagif Mustafazadeh. And since 1988, it continued its operation as Child Art School No.2, and additional sections were opened here.

It was noted that a number of famous people have finished Child Art School No.2 named after Vagif Mustafazadeh. People’s Artist of Azerbaijan Arif Malikov, Agshin Alizadeh, Ogtay Zulfugarov, Ogtay Rajabov, Kamil Jalilov, Aghaverdi Pashayev and a number of persons of art who have greatly contributed to the Azerbaijani culture have studied at this school.

At the moment, 385 pupils are studying at the school on such specialties as piano-forte, violin, guitar, clarinet, garmon, naghara, painting, choreography, and theory and education assistant. 78 teachers are engaged in their education.

It was brought to attention that Honoured Artist of Azerbaijan Vagif Mustafazadeh studied in the course of years 1949-1956 at this school’s piano-forte section. Pupils of this school have reached high achievements at various republican and international contests and festivals. The school’s building has never been so far repaired basically.

Mehriban Aliyeva gave instructions on performing relevant repair and restoration works on the building.
