Yeni Yashma Wind Power Park is commissioned into operation in Khyzy district

On October 11, opening of the 50mW Yeni Yashma Wind Power Park took place on the territory of Yeni Yashma and Shurabad settlements, Khyzy district.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the inauguration.

It was informed that the Yeni Yashma Wind Power Park was reconstructed this year. Reconstruction works in the plant, located in Yeni Yashma and Shurabad settlements, have been carried out by Germany’s Berlin Wind Company. Whereas 200 thousand kW-hour electricity was produced in January with the start of the first turbine, currently, 20 wind turbines are working with full capacity, and monthly production of electricity is about 9 million kW-hour. An administrative building has been constructed in the park’s area, which accommodates a control centre, service rooms for the staff, as well as a 20kW section, and a training centre. Working mode of the turbines, their operation conditions, wind velocity, wind forecast for the following days, and energy production are tracked online.

The Yeni Yashma Wind Power Park is the largest wind power park in the South Caucasus. As a result of the station’s commissioning into operation, the total share of the alternative energy production in Azerbaijan would rise to 1.8 percent, which is currently 0.7 percent.

The Head of the State was also given information about the 3.6mW Yashma Gardens Wind Power Park and 1.7mW Shurabad Wind Power Park.

At the end of the ceremony, a photo was taken together with the Wind Power Park’s staff.
