Decoration ceremony takes place in the framework of Italian President Sergio Mattarella's oficial visit to Azerbaijan

A decoration ceremony took place in the framework of the official visit by President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella to the Republic of Azerbaijan, July 18.

Resolutions of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on decorating Italian President Sergio Mattarella with the Heydar Aliyev Order, a high order of Azerbaijan, the Italian President’s daughter Laura Mattarella with the Order of Glory, and Italian minister for foreign affairs and international cooperation Enzo Moavero Milanesi with the Order of Friendship were read at the ceremony.

The resolutions state that President Sergio Mattarella is decorated with this order for his services in advancing the friendly relations and cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Italian Republic, with Laura Mattarella being honoured with the order for her contribution to humanitarian cooperation between the two countries, while Enzo Moavero Milanesi is decorated for his role in strengthening the relations between the states.

President Ilham Aliyev presented the orders.

Then, resolutions signed by the Italian President’s head of the order of “For Merits”, dated July 12, 2018, on decorating Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev with the Order of Knight Grand Cross together with the grand band “For Merits”, and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva with the Order of Knight Grand Cross “For Merits” were announced.

Italian President Sergio Mattarella presented the orders.
