President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva are on a visit to Dashkesen district

On October 31, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev was on a visit to Dashkesen district.

The Head of the State first attended the inauguration of the Ganja-Dashkesen-Khoshbulag motorway.

With total length of 47 km, this 3^rd technical category road’s cover is mainly asphalt-concrete. The road’s bed is 12-metre wide, with 7–metre wide traffic section. 10 bridges have been restored and reconstructed along the road. Linking Dashkesen town with the main roads network of the republic, this only road has been basically repaired in a short time span, in accordance with the Resolution of the President of Azerbaijan dated 13 July 2006. The project’s cost is 21.3 million Manats. So far, works have been performed for 10.2 million Manats. And the remaining 10.1 Manats will be spent for additional works and, mainly, construction of support walls. 76 thousand tons of asphalt has been laid on the road. Over 320 road signs have been fixed and over 800 signal poles installed for safety reasons. The motorway will facilitate movement of 5 villages of Khanlar district and 37 villages of Dashkesen district.

On October 31, inauguration of a monument to Azerbaijani people’s national leader Heydar Aliyev in Dashkesen town took place.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev unveiled the statue. The statue is 6-metre tall, together with its base. The Head of the State and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva put flowers before the statue.

President Ilham Aliyev also viewed the Heydar Park laid out here, highly appreciating the conditions created here for residents’ recreation, and the improvement works done.

On October 31, opening of the Heydar Aliyev Museum took place in Dashkesen town.

President Ilham Aliyev became familiarized with the museum.

The President was informed that rich photos related to the national leader’s childhood and youth years, the years he had worked at national security bodies, photos reflecting the periods of his leadership of the republic, his visits to districts, meetings with labourers, visits to foreign countries, rebirth of our country in the social and economic field, development and implementation of Azerbaijan’s oil strategy, and his activities in the field of army-building have been collected in the museum. A bust of the national leader has been put in the museum.

President Ilham Aliyev viewed individual corners of the museum. Information associated with Dashkesen district’s history and social and economic indices, as well as samples of minerals in the district’s territory aroused great interest.

The Head of the State wrote his heartfelt words in the Honorary Guests Book:

Exhibits of the Heydar Aliyev Museum and photos displayed in the museum reflect the life and creativity of the national leader. The museum’s exterior and internal design meet high standards. Heydar Aliyev has played an exclusive and matchless part in the development of independent Azerbaijan. His political course is being successfully continued today. Dynamic development of Dashkesen district is an obvious proof of this. Great attention has been shown towards development of Dashkesen district. A special resolution has been signed, which is being implemented successfully. Extensive improvement works are being carried out. I wish all Dashkesen residents new achievements and victories.

On October 31, President Ilham Aliyev familiarized himself with Secondary School No.2 named after Anar Mursalov in Dashkesen town.

It was informed that the three-storied building of the school, where 500 pupils are educated, has been repaired by the Education Ministry.

President Ilham Aliyev viewed classrooms, and a computer room. The significance of using modern technology by the youth, and computerization of schools was underscored.

Residents sincerely welcomed President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, thanking them for the care shown towards Dashkesen.

On October 31, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev visited “Dashkesen Ore Refinement” Open Joint-stock Company.

The Azerbaijani President first became familiarized with the projects “Dashkesen” and “Ganja” of this company, and with the layouts of the future factories.

The Head of the State was informed that in accordance with the investment programme, new factories will be built in future under these projects and, as a result, thousands of new jobs will be created. In general, investment in the amount of 235 million Dollars will be made, and all works will be done using new technologies. After the USA, the second company of this type will be in Azerbaijan. Ready product will be sent to Kazakhstan and other countries.

President Ilham Aliyev pushed the button signifying the start of using a new field of “Dashkesen Ore Refinement” Open Joint-stock Company. Then, pushing another button, he put into operation the ore transportation rope way.

Then a solemn ceremony took place.

On October 31, a residential building constructed in Dashkesen town for veterans of Garabagh War and martyr families was commissioned into operation.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva were welcomed here with great esteem, and flowers.

The Head of the State was informed that two floors of the three-storied building with 12 apartments have been built for the funds allocated by the Cabinet of Ministers, one for money donated by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. 8 apartments on the 1^st and 2^nd floors are distributed as relevant. And the four apartments on the 3^rd floor will be given to young couples from a boarding school after they marry.

President Ilham Aliyev, viewing apartments, became acquainted with the conditions created here, and highly appreciated the works done. A TV set was presented to each apartment on behalf of the head of the republic.

Then, the President presented certificates for apartments to their owners.

President Ilham Aliyev once more congratulated the owners of the new apartments.
