Meeting with rector of the I.M.Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University Peter Glybochko

First Vice-president of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva met, April 18, rector of the I.M.Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University Peter Glybochko.   

Greeting Peter Glybochko, Mehriban Aliyeva talked about the cooperation built with the I.M.Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, the activities of this education institution in Baku, and said the project of establishing a branch of the university has been very successful.

Significant works carried out recent years in our country’s healthcare system and great achievements reached in this sphere were emphasized at the meeting. The significance of increasing qualifications of the people employed in the healthcare system was underscored as the primary objective. Mehriban Aliyeva touched upon the importance of the activities of the Baku branch of the I.M.Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University from this standpoint, and expressed confidence that the students studying at this university will contribute to the healthcare system of Azerbaijan.

Saying “Education and healthcare have been priority areas in all countries”, Azerbaijan’s First Vice-president touched upon the care shown by the state towards these spheres. Further was mentioned that branches of the world’s leading higher education institutions are operating in Azerbaijan currently, and that there were good potential for broadening the cooperation with the I.M.Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University.

Rector of the I.M.Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University Peter Glybochko expressed his delight in meeting Azerbaijan’s First Vice-president and thanked for the appreciation of the activity of university’s Baku branch. Mentioning the university’s teaching staff’s giving lessons to students at the Baku branch, Peter Glybochko brought to attention that he had visited the branch, met students, and that they were happy to study here. The rector said the Baku branch of the I.M.Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University had a state-of-the-art material and technical basis. It was noted that students of the 3^rd and 4^th years will take a structured examination, and this was of great importance in terms of increasing the students’ qualification.

At the end of the meeting, the guest presented a souvenir to Mehriban Aliyeva.
