Visit to Turkey
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva were on a visit to Turkey, November 16-20, 2006.
The Head of the State and his spouse were greeted, at the airport of Antalya city, by Turkish state minister Mehmet Aydin and other state and government officials.
Meeting with Turkish President’s spouse Semra Sezer
On November 17, Mehriban Aliyeva met with Mrs Semra Sezer, the spouse of Turkish President Ahmad Sezer, at Divan Talya Hotel.
Consistently strengthening sincere relations between the two countries, extension and deepening of bilateral cooperation in all spheres were underscored during the meeting.
Visit to ancient settlement Side
On November 17, Mehriban Aliyeva visited ancient settlement Side, accompanied by Mrs Semra Sezer, the spouse of Turkish President Ahmad Sezer.
Mehriban Aliyeva was informed of tangible cultural monuments in Side settlement, located some 100 kilometres off the city of Antalya. The First Lady saw the monument to legendary Heracles, and viewed Aspendos Theatre related to II-I centuries B.C.
Dinner-party in honour of Mehriban Aliyeva
On November 17, a dinner-party was hosted on behalf of Turkish President’s spouse Semra Sezer in honour of Mehriban Aliyeva.
