Inauguration of Shirvan Wines LTD’s winegrowing and winemaking complex takes place in Shamakhy

On August 25, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, in the framework of their visit to Shamakhy, attended the inauguration of Shirvan Wines LTD’s winegrowing and winemaking complex in Meysari village.

The President and the First Lady were given information about the complex. They were told that total area of this winegrowing and winemaking complex was 310 hectares. A winery with the area of 4,398 square metres was constructed in the territory of the complex, using state-of-the-art technology, and provided with equipment by “Pera” Company of France. The company’s goal is to achieve production of 1.4 million litres of wine per year. Taking into account the tourism potential of the region, the company plans also to arrange tours to the complex, whereby to contribute to the winemaking tourism in the country. To this end, a wine museum, a restaurant building and a terrace were commissioned into operation, a car parking facility and a guesthouse constructed for guests. An entertainment zone was created for kids. There is a checkpoint for trucks and passenger cars at the entrance of the complex. A hangar, car wash and petrol station, a shop and a car parking facility for the factory’s transport means were constructed on the territory. A bridge was constructed over the river, for passenger cars and pedestrians. Water, light and gas lines were built from remote areas, special pipes laid, and automatic irrigation systems and security-surveillance cameras installed on the territory. An office building, a canteen and a dormitory were constructed for the factory’s employees.
