Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva was on a visit to France, 17-19 September 2014.
Demonstration of “Shadows of Gobustan” Ballet and inauguration of an exhibition comprised of Gobustan petroglyphs
On September 17, demonstration of “Shadows of Gobustan” Ballet and inauguration of an exhibition comprised of Gobustan petroglyphs took place within the framework of Gobustan’s promotion at UNESCO.
Mehriban Aliyeva met with UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova at the ceremony. Significance of the projects being implemented between Azerbaijan and UNESCO was emphasized at the meeting. Presentation at UNESCO in connection with Gobustan was underscored as important, and confidence was expressed that relations will be extended further.
Then “Shadows of Gobustan” Ballet was demonstrated.
On the same day, inauguration of an exhibition comprised of Gobustan petroglyphs took place with the organizational support of Azerbaijan’s Representative office under UNESCO, supported also by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan.
Inauguration of the “Azerbaijani Camp“ in Paris
On September 19, an “Azerbaijani Camp” was organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation at Saint-Sulpice Square of Paris. Mehriban Aliyeva attended the inauguration.
Mayor of the 6th district of Paris Jean-Pierre Lecoq and President of the Association of the Friends of Azerbaijan in France Jean-Francois Mansel joined the inauguration ceremony.
The “Azerbaijani Camp” united various exhibitions devoted to our country’s history and culture, including its tourism capacity. Primary objective of arranging the camp was to introduce Azerbaijan abroad more closely, and to ensure that promotion events in France, including its capital, are held on a continuous basis.
Mehriban Aliyeva addressed the event.
Then acquaintance with the “Azerbaijani Camp” took place.
The event continued with a concert by well-known jazz performer, Honoured Artist Isfar Sarabski.
