First Vice-president Mehriban Aliyeva meets deputy of the Iranian President for woman and family affairs Masuma Ibtikar

On March 28, First Vice-president of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva met deputy of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran for woman and family affairs Masuma Ibtikar.

Mehriban Aliyeva, expressing her delight in welcoming the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran to our country, noted that the relations between our countries have historically relied on friendship and brotherhood, underscoring that they covered a number of areas, including political and cultural fields. It was emphasized that meetings held between the heads of the states of Azerbaijan and Iran would serve the strengthening of the relations between our countries. Saying “Recent years, Azerbaijan and Iran have implemented joint projects, being significant both for our countries and the region”, Mehriban Aliyeva mentioned the relations in the transport sector in particular, noting that the project documents associated with the Rasht-Astara railway to be signed today between the two countries in the framework of the Baku visit of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani would be beneficial both for Azerbaijan and Iran.

Deputy of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran for woman and family affairs Masuma Ibtikar, expressing her delight in undertaking a visit to our country, said that the relations between Iran and Azerbaijan have been strengthening in all spheres, underscoring that these relations served the wellbeing of both the peoples. Talking about the relations between the two countries in the economic sphere, the guest noted, in particular, the large projects implemented in the transport sector. She said widening of the relations in the cultural area is of great significance, bringing to attention that the relations in the field of family and woman issues are also expanding. Citing the projects implemented in the public and social spheres by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, led by First Vice-president Mehriban Aliyeva, Masuma Ibtikar said these projects were carried out successfully.
