President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva pay a visit to the monument erected to great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Nizami Ganjavi in Rome

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev paid a visit to the monument erected to great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Nizami Ganjavi in famous Villa Borghese Park in Rome, February 19.

President Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and their daughter Leyla Aliyeva laid bunches of flowers before the monument.

This monument was erected based on the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On celebrating the 850^th anniversary of great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Nizami Ganjavi”, dated 23 December 2011. Inauguration of the monument took place in April 2012 in the framework of the series of events dedicated to the jubilee of Nizami Ganjavi in accordance with the said Resolution.
