On November 15, a recital of renowned comedian of Russia, TV presenter, showman and singer Maxim Galkin took place at the Heydar Aliyev Centre.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and their daughter Leyla Aliyeva attended the recital.
Maxim Galkin appeared before the audience with a song creating a cheerful mood. Saying he was honoured to greet the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the First Lady, Maxim Galkin noted that he had made often trips to Baku, emphasizing the city became more beautiful year by year. Noting that he loved the Azerbaijani language, the showman said: “I have learned the Azerbaijani language. I speak Azerbaijani. But what I speak, do not even know myself”, which caused laughter and betokened a start of an evening full of jokes.
Maxim Galkin performed before the audience with a stand-up show. He presented parodies on songs of renowned artists of Russia and Europe, including Anna German, Lyudmila Zykina, Lev Leshenko, Vladimir Vinokur, Dima Bilan, Philip Kirkorov, Valerie Meladze, Toto Kutugno, Joe Dassin etc.
One of the interesting moments of the evening was the performance by Maxim Galkin of the song “Blue Eternity”, from the repertoire of world-renowned singer and composer Muslim Magomayev. The song “Arlekino” from the repertoire of world-renowned artist Alla Pugachova was welcomed by the audience with applauses.
Programmes presented by Maxim Galkin combine parodies, songs, humour, and pieces of concerts from famous TV shows. He feels the audience and builds an intercourse with the spectators throughout the show. This evening too was not an exclusion.
At the end of the show, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva met with Maxim Galkin.
The two-hour show was full of laughter and joy, with no interruption. The recital favoured everybody with a nice mood.
Maxim Galkin’s artistic debut was at the Moscow State University’s Students Theatre in 1994. The same year, he performed at the programme “Debuts, debuts, debuts” at the Variety Theatre. Continuing his artistic career ever since, Maxim Galkin received the awards “Triumph” and “Golden Ostap” in 2001 in Russia. In the same year, he gave his first solo concert at the “Slavic Bazaar in Vitebsk” Festival. Since then, his concerts have been regular. In October 2001, he tried himself in a new range – song performance. His first vocal experience was the song “Bud ili ne bud” (Будь или не будь), which he sang together with Alla Pugachova, a legend of the Russian variety show. Maxim Galkin is also popular as a presenter of a series of TV shows. He gives sold-out concerts, with his participations in TV projects securing high ratings.
Each of the concerts given by Maxim Galkin in Baku were completely new and different.
