President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva are on a visit to Lankaran district

On October 15, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva were on a visit to Lankaran district.

President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva paid a visit to the monument erected to national leader Heydar Aliyev in the park laid out in memory of the National Leader, and put flowers before the monument.

On October 15, within the framework of President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Lankaran, presentation of the Thermal Spring and Health Centre took place.

President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva became familiarized with the works carried out in the centre.

According to the information given, the Lankaran Thermal Spring Sanatorium was first put into operation in 1958. In 1974, a four-storied sanatorium building was constructed on the territory.

Construction of the Lankaran Thermal Spring and Health Centre started in November 2016. The 182-room hotel building of the centre has been constructed following the highest standards.

The President and the First Lady became familiarized with the conditions created in hotel rooms.

The two-storied medical centre in the Lankaran Thermal Spring and Health Centre has been provided with state-of-the-art equipment.

President Ilham Aliyev viewed thermal water tubs.

Currently, 12 active thermal sources, including 7 wells and 5 springs exists in the Lankaran Thermal Spring and Health Centre.

Here have also been created a closed parking lot for 46 cars, and an open parking area for 80 cars.

After the familiarization with the complex, President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva met with representatives of the district public and the staff of the enterprise.

The Head of the State addressed the meeting.

On October 15, inauguration of the Lankaran Olympic Sports Complex took place.

President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the inauguration.

Construction of the complex started in 2013. Following the resolutions of President Ilham Aliyev, 15 million Manats were allocated, in general, for the construction of the Lankaran Sports Complex. Having been carried out with high quality, the construction works were completed in October this year.

Competitions on all types of sports can be held in this universal sports complex, with 788 spectator’s seats. One of the features which makes the complex more significant is creation of a modern hotel here.

The complex accommodates weightlifting, training facilities, boxing and wrestling halls. Coach rooms too have been provided with all possibilities for efficient activity.

The swimming pool built here meets the highest standards. The pool is 25 metres long, 12 metres wide. 135 people can watch swimming competitions in this hall. Up to 1300 spectators can watch competitions to be held on the football pitch meeting modern standards. Mini football, basketball and volleyball pitches too have been placed at the disposal of sportsmen here. The complex has been provided with gas, water-sewage system, electricity and communication lines. Extensive improvement works have been carried out, greenery planted, and rest corners created in the backyard.

On October 15, President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the inauguration of the Lankaran branch of Azerkhalcha Open Joint-stock Company.

Total area of the Lankaran branch of Azerkhalcha OJSC is 1,249 square metres. Construction of the branch building, located at the 199^th kilometre of the state motor road Alat-Astara-the border with the Islamic Republic of Iran, started in March this year. Construction works have been performed with high quality. 150 textile-workers and a staff of 14 administrative workers will be employed here. The building accommodates a weaving shop, an administrative room, a storehouse, a canteen, a physician’s room, a carpet sale hall, a conference room and other sections. Azerbaijani carpets in various sizes will be woven on 43 weaving looms.

At the end, the Head of the State and the First Lady met the staff of the enterprise,and talked with them.

Carpet weavers thanked President Ilham Aliyev for the high-level support and care shown towards advancing this ancient art.

On October 15, President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, within the framework of their visit to Lankaran district, attended the inauguration of the Hirkan-Dashtatuk-Bilasar Motorroad, after reconstruction.

President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva were given information about the technical characteristics of the road.

The road is 22 kilometre long. 9.1 million Manats were allocated to the Azerbaijan Motorroad State Agency from the state budget, by a resolution of the Azerbaijani President, for the construction of the Hirkan- Dashtatuk-Bilasar Motorroad, linking 7 settlements. As a result of the works done, the Hirkan-Dashtatuk-Bilasar Motorroad has been rebuilt according to the 4^th technical category.

President Ilham Aliyev was also given information about the construction of the Ojakaran-Tulakuvan-Tangarud Motorroad in Astara district. Linking 3 settlements with the population of 9 thousand people, this road is 11 kilometre long.

The President took interest also in the construction of Takhtanakaran-Miki, Takhtanakaran-Toradi inter-village roads in Astara district.

According to the information provided, 11.5 million Manats were allocated for the reconstruction of inter-village roads linking 38 settlements with the population of 12 thousand people.

The Head of the State and his spouse were given information about the layout of the bridge to be built over Astarachay, and the road leading to the bridge.
