Ceremonial military parade takes place on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan

A ceremonial military parade took place on Azadlyg Square of Baku to celebrate the 100th anniversary of establishing the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan, June 26.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva were present at the parade.

State and government officials, MPs, ambassadors of foreign countries to Azerbaijan, military attaches, employees of international organizations, heads of delegations coming to the republic in connection with the jubilee event, veterans of war, and general public watched the military parade.

A staff of about 4000 people consisting of parade personnel from the ministries of Defence, Internal Affairs and Emergency Situations, the State Security Service, the State Border Service and the Special State Security Service, as well as parade personnel from the Armed Forces of the Turkish Republic participated in the parade.

Over 240 military equipment, ships, more than 70 flying facilities, including newly introduced state-of-the-art armoured machines, rockets and artillery equipment, air defence systems, helicopters and pilotless vehicles were demonstrated at the parade.

Up to 100 people from Turkey, Pakistan, Belarus, Bahrein, the United Arab Emirates, Georgia, Iran, Israel, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia and Ukraine participated in the parade.
