President Ilham Aliyev and family members pay a visit to national leader Heydar Aliyev’s grave and the Alley of Martyrs

On April 18, after the inauguration ceremony, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev arrived, together with family members, at the Alley of Honours and commemorated, with great reverence, Azerbaijani people’s national leader, the architect and builder of contemporary Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev, having paid a visit to his grave.

The Head of the State put flowers before the National Leader’s grave, bowed his head before his soul.

The President and the family members visited also the graves of eminent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva, state figure Aziz Aliyev, and professor Tamerlan Aliyev.

Then, the President and the family members visited the Alley of Martyrs, our people’s holy place of oath.

The Head of the State commemorated the sons of the Homeland who had given their lives in the name of Azerbaijan’s freedom, independence and territorial integrity, and put a wreath before the monument “Eternal Torch”.

After the visit, the President and the family members viewed Baku’s panorama.
