Designed to serve passengers, having a hotel, the 16-floor railway station building was the biggest in the South Caucasus among the objects of this kind.

Major repair and reconstruction works here started in March 2015. Ticket offices, passenger platforms have undergone major repair in a modern style, the moving staircases being replaced with new ones. Elevators have been installed for luggage, passengers, and the disabled. While performing the major repair, administrative rooms, trade and catering facilities meeting contemporary standards were created here, and mother and child rooms, a waiting hall and storage chambers were commissioned into operation. Passengers will benefit from free use of Wi-Fi in the building. Within the framework of the major repair and reconstruction works, 8 tunnels meeting modern standards, four of them leading to the railway station and four into the city, have been created.

Provision of 45 types of service is intended to be ensured here by 3 entities – “Azerishyq” and “Azersu” OJSCs and “Azerigas” Production Unit. By 10 service windows were created in the centre for each of “Azerishyg” and “Azersu”, and 9 windows for “Azerigas”. At the centre, where bank and notary services have also been arranged, 71 people have been provided with job, 51 out of them being employees, 20 volunteers. A volunteers room, a conference room and a child entertainment area have been created in the centre.
