Visit to Russia

On 10-11 April 2015, Azerbaijan’s First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva was on a visit to Russia.

Presentation of the Baku-2015 First European Games in Moscow

On April 10, presentation of the Baku-2015 First European Games took place in Moscow with joint support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Azerbaijan’s Embassy in the Russian Federation. 

Azerbaijan’s First Lady, Chairperson of the First European Games Organizing Committee Mehriban Aliyeva, Vice-president of the Foundation Leyla Aliyeva, and Arzu Aliyeva attended the presentation ceremony. 

Held in the Congress Centre of the Ukraine Hotel, the event was attended by representatives of Russia’s public and political circles, international sports society, persons of culture and other influential guests.

The guests  first watched a documentary devoted to the Baku-2015 First European Games.  Various publications about Azerbaijan prepared by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, including booklets devoted to the First European Games, were presented to attendees of the event.

Mehriban Aliyeva addressed the ceremony.

After the speech by President of the Russian Olympic Committee Alexander Jukov, the attendees watched a documentary devoted to the Baku-2015 First European Games. 

The ceremony continued with a concert programme.

Meeting with heads of leading mass media of Russia in Moscow

On April 11, Mehriban Aliyeva met the heads of Russia’s leading mass media at TASS Agency.

Expressing her pleasure of coming again to Moscow, Mehriban Aliyeva talked about the works carried out in Azerbaijan in connection with the First European Games and invited the attendees to Baku to watch the Games. 

Then Mehriban Aliyeva answered questions of the heads of Russia’s leading mass media concerning the Baku-2015 First European Games.

Interview to “Russia-24” TV Channel

On April 11, Mehriban Aliyeva gave an interview to Russia’s “Russia-24” Channel. During the interview, Mehriban Aliyeva talked about the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia in the humanitarian  sphere, preparation for the Baku-2015 First European Games, the tolerant environment dominating in Azerbaijan, successful activity of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and other matters. 

Interview to TASS Agency

On April 11, Mehriban Aliyeva gave an interview to Russia’s TASS Agency. In her interview, the First Lady talked about the preparation works associated with the Baku-2015 First European Games.
